Game 1 to Lions

 

It was expected to be an epic series to likely decide the Region 7AAA championship between two of the Top 10 teams in the state.

Game one did not disappoint.

The Emmanuel College Lions basketball team won the NCCAA Division I basketball tournament Saturday. Members of the team are Austin Greene, Steven Guinchard, Elijah Robinson, Emerson McClung, Zach Lillie, Kurtis Robinson, Nathan Williams, Sam Turner, Austin Farrow, Zach Vess, John Fitzpatrick, Nick Scheimann, Kendrick Colvin, Willy Akassaon, Clinton Cybulski, Trevor Jain, Bradley Brevet and Ronnie Stanley. Coaches are Head Coach T.J. Rosene, Derrick Mason and Graham Maxwell.

National champions

 

The Emmanuel College Lions are national champions.

The Lions won the National Christian College Athletic Association basketball tournament Saturday in Winona Lake, Ind.

A running start

 

The Franklin County Lions dominated Region 7AAA in 2015.

The Lions ran away with the region championship, dropping just two games in 18 region games.
