Record number voting early
CARNESVILLE – Franklin County voters can cast ballots Saturday for the Nov. 6 general election during a special day of voting.
A total of 990 people voted early last week during the first week of early voting.
Another 407 voted Monday and Tuesday this week to make the total 1,397 early ballots thus far.
Saturday’s special day of voting will be held at the county elections office from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
This year’s election includes statewide races for governor, lieutenant governor, secretary of state, secretary of agriculture, attorney general, commissioner of labor, state school superintendent, insurance commissioner and two public service commission seats.
A contested race for U.S. representative is also on the ballot.
In a separate election, Royston residents will also vote on changes to the city’s alcoholic beverage laws.
Absentee ballots are available.
