City of Royston – Holiday Market Nov. 24 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Royston Depot. Anyone wishing to reserve a table to display and sell handmade items, may contact the Royston DDA at 706-245-7577 for more information.
City of Canon – Christmas Tree Lighting Nov. 25 at 6 p.m. at Canon City Park. The event will feature the lighting of the tree and Christmas music.
City of Royston – Christmas in Royston downtown shopping event Nov. 29 from 5-8 p.m. Downtown stores and restaurants will be open late for shopping and dining. Christmas music, old-fashioned wagon rides, children’s train rides and a visit with Santa will also be available.
City of Franklin Springs – ninth annual Christmas tree lighting Nov. 29 at 6 p.m. at City Hall. The event will include a visit from Santa Claus, horse drawn carriage rides, refreshments, a craft station, roasting marshmallows and Christmas caroling.
City of Bowersville – Miracle On Main Dec. 1 from 5:30-8 p.m. on Main Street. The event will include a tree lighting, carriage rides, fireside smores and a visit with Santa.
Lavonia Downtown Development Authority – Christmas Dickens Diner Dec. 1 at 6 p.m. at 211 Main Street Restaurant in Lavonia. For reservations, call 706-356-2877.
City of Canon – Christmas Parade Dec. 1 at 11 a.m. The parade begins at the Canon City Park and proceeds up Depot Street and onto Highway 17 before ending near City Hall.
City of Lavonia – Christmas Parade Dec. 2 at 3 p.m. Entry applications are available at the Lavonia Depot. There is no fee, but all entities must complete and sign an application for the event before the deadline of Nov. 30. Decorated floats may be rented from NEGA Float Rental by calling 706-599-2336. Entries will line up near City Hall. The parade will go down Highway 17 to the Silo Center.
City of Carnesville – tree lighting Dec. 7 at 6 p.m. at Carnesville City Park.
City of Carnesville – Breakfast with Santa Dec. 8 at 9 a.m. at Carnesville Community Center.
Franklin Community Players – Breakfast with The Grinch Dec. 8 from 9-10:30 a.m. at the Lavonia Cultural Center. The event includes breakfast, a craft project and the opportunity to have a photo taken with the beloved Doctor Seuss character. Space is limited, and advance tickets are required. The Journey at First Baptist Church in Lavonia – “Believe in Christmas ... A real story of hope” Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 9 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the Family Life Center.
Destiny Fellowship – Cross Roads Baptist Church in Carnesville – Christmas singing Dec. 9 at 7 p.m., featuring The Singing Saints.
City of Lavonia – Christmas Festival Dec. 14 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. in the Gazebo and East Main Street areas. The Christmas Tree Lighting will kick off the festival at 5:30 p.m. The festival will include entertainment featuring Happy Dayz Singers, GA Baton and Dance, the Franklin County High School Dancing Pride dance team and Bethany Baptist Chior. There will be food and craft vendors, as well as an inflatable, Santa Claus and Papa’s Little Choo-choo Train for children, plus Flash the DJ and horse and carriage rides. All of the entertainment is free, with the exception of Papa’s Little Choo-choo. Horse and carriage rides will be scheduled every 15 minutes, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are free, but must be secured early to select a time slot. The Christmas Market will be selling handmade, homemade and homegrown items every Saturday, as well as during the Christmas Festival.
Franklin Community Players – “Stories and Songs of Christmas” Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. at the Lavonia Cultural Center. The show will be a holiday revue performed by members of the community. Audience members are strongly encouraged to bring canned goods or other non-perishable food items for the Lavonia Food Bank.
City of Royston – Christmas Parade Dec. 9 at 3 p.m. The parade begins on Old Elbert Road, proceeds down Highway 17 to U.S. 29 and then to the Dill’s Shopping Center.
Royston First United Methodist Church – Christmas Eve services Dec. 24 at 3 p.m., 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. A family service will be held at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary, led by Heather Woods. Candlelight and Communion services will be held at 6 p.m. – with music by the Chancel Choir – and 11 p.m. – with music led by Jerry Black. The Rev. Matt Parker will lead both services.
