Lavonia’s Carlisle named to state oversight group
LAVONIA – Lavonia Police Chief Bruce Carlisle has been appointed to a new position.
On Dec. 14, Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal appointed Carlisle to the state’s Board of Public Safety.
The Board of Public Safety was created by an act of the General Assembly in 1972.
The board is generally responsible of the oversight of, and policy formation and/or approval regarding, the Department of Public Safety, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Georgia Public Safety Training Center.
The Department of Public Safety includes both the Georgia State Patrol and Motor Carriers Compliance Division.
