Calls to 911 continue to rise
CARNESVILLE – The number of calls answered by Franklin County EMS/911 has steadily increased since 2009.
County Manager Elizabeth Thomas presented this information to the Franklin County Board of Commissioners Tuesday night during their work session.
“The number of calls are already higher than last year,” Thomas said. “Last year, you approved adding a supervisor quick response vehicle so the supervisor can provide additional assistance. As of Oct. 10, the SQVR has responded to 870 calls.”
Thomas also said she found it interesting that 85 percent of the calls that come into E911 are now from wireless phones.
