Toddler killed in ATV accident on Bear Creek Road

CANON – A 3-year-old girl was killed Monday in an ATV accident on Bear Creek Road in Canon.

The girl died at the scene when a Polaris Ranger ATV driven by a 9-year-old boy struck a tree and overturned, a report from the Georgia State Patrol said.

The accident happened Monday at 12:29 p.m.

The vehicle, whose passengers also included a 7-year-old boy, was attempting to turn out of a private driveway onto Bear Creek Road when the driver lost control and overcorrected, the report said.

The vehicle struck a tree and fell on its side.

Neither the driver nor the other passenger were injured in the accident, according to the report.

No charges have been filed in the accident and the investigation is complete, a state patrol spokesperson said.
