CARNESVILLE – Poll workers are being sought for the Nov. 8 general election.

A training workshop for those interested in working polls will be held  in recognition of National Poll Workers Recruitment Day Aug. 23 from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the Franklin County Board of Elections office in Carnesville.

Tracie Creason of the elections office said 56 workers are needed to man the polls on Election Day and extra workers are needed in case someone can’t work at the last minute.

Poll workers must be at least 16 years old, attend a training session and complete training for each election.

Poll workers must be U.S. citizens who are residents of or employed by the county in which they serve.

Workers must work the full day on Election Day, typically from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m.

To sign up or for more information, call Creason at 706-918-3126 or 706-599-7176.
