CARNESVILLE – The City of Carnesville will kick off two weekends of Easter celebrations for Franklin County on Sunday.

Carnesville will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt Sunday at 2 p.m. at Carnesville City Park.

Children up to sixth grade can come out and hunt hundreds of eggs at the park.

The Easter Bunny will be on hand for visits and photos and cookies and punch will be served.

The majority of the annual city egg hunts will follow next weekend.

• Royston.

The City of Royston will hold its annual Easter Egg Hunt March 30 at 10 a.m. at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4828 at 948 Franklin Springs St. in Royston.

There will be time to visit with the Easter Bunny at the beginning of the event, with the egg hunt to follow.

• Lavonia.

The City of Lavonia will hold its Easter Egg Hunt March 30 from 2-4 p.m. at Lavonia City Park.

The event will include the egg hunt, a bounce house, visits with the Easter Bunny and Mr. Twister’s Balloon Animals.

The third annual Lavonia Easter Egg Hunt is sponsored by Chick-Fil-A Lavonia, Lavonia Church of God, the Lavonia Police Department and the Lavonia Downtown Development Authority.

• Canon.

The City of Canon Easter Egg Hunt will be March 30 at 2 p.m. in Canon City Park on Depot Street.

Along with the egg hunt, the event will include the Currahee Meadows Petting Zoo and prize eggs provided by the Lake Hartwell Shrine Club.

Free popcorn and water will be provided by the Canon Downtown Development Authority.

In addition to the city-sponsored events, numerous churches and organizations plan Easter events.

• Middle River Baptist Church.

Middle River Baptist Church will hold an Easter Egg Hunt Saturday at 11 a.m. at the church.

In case of rain, the egg hunt will be held March 30.

• Connections for Special Parents.

Connections for Special Parents will also hold an event Sunday.

CSP’s annual Easter Egg-Stavaganza will be held Sunday from 2-3 p.m. at Lavonia City Park.

• Liberty Baptist Church.

Liberty Baptist Church in Carnesville will hold its Eggs-tra Special Egg Hunt Sunday at noon at the church at 6077 Highway 145 in Carnesville.

The egg hunt will be kicked off by eggs dropping from an airplane.

A hot dog lunch and Pelican’s SnoBalls will be available, as will a bounce house.

• Word of Life Christian Church.

Word of Life Christian Church will hold its annual Easter Egg Hunt and Fellowship Meal March 27 at 6 p.m. at the church in Carnesville.

All ages are welcome.

• Victoria Bryant State Park.

Victoria Bryant State Park in Franklin Springs will hold an Easter Egg Hunt March 30 from 2-3 p.m. at the park at 1105 Bryant Park Road.

• Cross Roads Baptist Church.

Cross Roads Baptist Church in Carnesville will host an Easter Egg Hunt March 30 at 10:30 a.m. at the church at 16144 Highway 59 in Carnesville.

The Easter Bunny will attend for photos.
